Kenya Premier League side Western Stima have appointed Henry Omino as head coach just one week after sacking Francis Baraza.

Stima official Laban Jobita has exclusively revealed to Goal that Omino has signed a one year contract and will be assisted by Ramadhan Balala. "We have appointed Omino to take over as coach on a one year contract and he starts work immediately.

"We have settled on Omino because he has experience having handled the same side before. Omino is simply returning home and we are confident that he will deliver good results."

Omino’s appointment comes hours after the club edged out Thika United 2-1 in a league match at Mumias Complex.

Stima went ahead through Paul Odhiambo, who took advantage of a defensive lapse in Thika United back line to slot home. Collins Neto scored the second goal in 15th minute.

Thika United, who played minus Michael Olunga and Moses Arita, scored through Joseph Kuria and a late rally to snatch a point could not yield results as Stima held on to triumph.
