Former Ghana captain John Mensah is in Slovakia and almost set to sign for FC Nitra, Goal Ghana can exclusively reveal.
The deal is being negotiated by Slovakian Lubos Moravcik and Goal understands both parties are happy with the offer on the table.
“John came through Lubos Moravcik’s initiative. I appreciate it very much. When you hear the name John Mensah, people who are interested in football, sit up. If you look at his CV, where he played, it is very interesting,” club chairman and general manager Joseph Petrani stated.
He added: “I do not know the last time a player with such a history came to Nitra. We took this opportunity and I believe that he will be ready physically and play soccer.”
Mensah has been out since his deal with Rennes was canceled last summer.
