Paris Saint-Germain stars Blaise Matuidi and Maxwell have both signed fresh contracts with the Ligue 1 leaders, who have yet to officially announce the deals.
Prior to Tuesday’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Bayer Leverkusen, the duo signed new deals, while Thiago Motta has verbally agreed terms with the Parc des Princes club and will shortly follow suit.
Goal revealed Matuidi had been targeted by Arsenal in January, but the Parisian club were always confident of retaining the energetic midfielder‘s services and were planning to reward his excellent form with a pay rise.
Former Barcelona left-back Maxwell has also seen his wages improved, although his deal remains set to expire at the end of next season.
The future of Alex and Jeremy Menez may lie away from the French capital, however. Both have contracts that expire in June, with the centre-back’s non-EU status counting against him.
Former Roma attacker Menez, meanwhile, has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team.
