South African side Mamelodi Sundowns have disclosed that Rashid Sumaila has been attracting interest from some clubs outside the continent.
Sumaila joined Sundowns from Asante Kotoko during the commencement of the 2013-14 calendar.
The 21-year-old who was a regular is now struggling to command a starting berth.
But there seem to be an escape route for the centre back after the club revealed offers are pouring in from Russia, France and Belgium.
“I won’t mention the name of the clubs but I can confirm to you that we have received offers from Russia, France and Belgium and are prepared to listen,” Sundowns communications co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa told KickOff.com.
“It has always been our policy not to stand in the way of players, and if the offer is right for Sumaila we are prepared to engage with interested parties,” adds Thuswa.
It is believed that Belgian side Standard Liege is one of the interested clubs.
