The rising Algerian star has mentioned the Ghanaian midfielder as one of the key people who advised him to join Le Triglie
Algerian striker Ishak Belfodil has revealed that Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan played a major role in his loan move to Livorno.
The Inter forward was a loan target of QPR, West Ham, Sassuolo and Livorno but opted for the latter.
“At the start I wanted to try out an experience in England, then this Livorno opportunity came along and I didn’t let it get away from me,” said Belfodil when he was being unveiled.
“Both Djamel Mesbah and Alfred Duncan had called me to say this was a good place to work and a well prepared club so I decided to join them.”
He added: “There were a lot of confusion on transfer deadline day as I’d already had my medical with QPR. Once that deal fell through because of financial reasons, Italian clubs stepped forward and I chose Livorno.
“Now I am at Livorno to give my contribution towards safety and we’ll do everything to achieve that.”
The Algerian has joined the Serie A side for the rest of the season.
