Ian Palmer joins Milano United

Former Chippa United head coach Ian Palmer has joined the NFD log leaders Milano United as Assistant Technical Advisor
Palmer was linked with the vacant Ajax coaching position along with four other candidates, but was probably not first choice.
“We confirmed the signing of Ian Palmer as the Assistant Technical Advisor. Palmer will work hand in hand with head coach Theo Hempe.
“Theo remains an integral part of the club and future plans as the head coach,” said Milano United Manager Sean Ferrier.
Palmer who was recently fired at the Philippi based outfit, joined the Chilly Boys in October last year and took them to second position on the NFD table. With much controversy as to the reasons for his dismissal, Palmer took charge of thirteen matches at the Chilly Boys, with seven wins, three draws and only three losses.
According to Palmer, he had a great relationship with the Chilly Boys boss Chippa Mpengesi as well as with the players, and that the dismissal came to him as a surprise.
“We are confident of Palmer’s extensive knowledge of NFD as well as the PSL, as it will help us with our promotion ambition to the Premier Soccer League.
“The club feels that with his time at Chippa and Santos, he has all the qualities acquired to help us become a force in the NFD,” said Ferrier.
