Goal can confirm that Orlando Pirates will renew the contracts of full-back Thabo Matlaba and midfielder Sifiso Myeni in the near future.
Matlaba and Myeni are into their last six months of their existing contracts, and there's a fear the two players could be lost to the Buccaneers.
However, one of the Pirates officials confirmed to Goal that the club will engage in negotiations with the two players in the next coming weeks.
"You can't think of Orlando Pirates without including Matlaba and Myeni," the Pirates official told Goal. "Hence we are going to extend their contracts," he said.
"They have been important to this team and without a doubt, they remain important properties of this Pirates team unless a good offer from abroad comes up," added the Pirates official.
Matlaba was signed from Free State Stars two seasons ago, while Sifiso Myeni joined Bucs from Bidvest Wits.
