Zaharulnizam snubs offers to sign for Kelantan

Kelantan's new signing, Wan Zaharulnizam, has admitted that he rejected offers from other clubs in order to play for his hometown side.

Wan Zaharulnizam Wan Zakaria has stated that the determination to see his hometown club Kelantan continue to be successful is one of the reasons he chose them while also adding that it is his personal choice to be playing with the Red Warriors.

According to Sinar Harian, Zaharulnizam said: "I admit that I received offers from other teams but the determination to see Kelantan to stay at the top and hold on to its status as the team to beat in the M-League made me sign for them.

"When I stepped out of (the) Young Tigers, my main mission is to play with the Red Warriors and everything went well."

Zaharulnizam also added that his personal goals are to attract the supporters attention as well as doing his best for the team.

"This is my first season with Kelantan, and even though there are rumours that Kelantan would not be as successful as previous seasons, I believe that is ridiculous," he revealed.

"We will show that the Red Warriors are still strong and will be respected by other teams," he added.

Commenting on the departure of Indra Putra and Norfarhan Mohammad from the Kelantan squad, Zaharulnizam said that he will take it as a challenge if the coach wants him to fill that gap.

Kelantan unveiled their new signings for the 2014 season recently with big names such as Wan Zaharulnizam, Amar Rohidan and three import players, including the return of Mohamad Ghaddar.
