The official Facebook page of the Kedah Football Association (KFA) today announced that the David Mitchell-led northern Premier League side are in the final stages of negotiation with three foreign players. The players are Western Sydney Wanderers defender Dean Heffernan, former Perth Glory striker Billy Mehmet, and Sydney FC defender Matthew Thompson.
KFA also added that if the negotiations work out, the three players will join the Canaries at the end of November, in time for their pre-season preparations.
Reports have suggested that another Premier League and northern side, Penang are securing the services of several players. They are Perak's Yong Kuong Yong, T-Team's G. Mahathevan, Sarawak's Azizan Baba, and Sime Darby's Zamri Chin.
Coincidentally, Penang and Kedah met in a friendly match on Monday night at Stadium Bandaraya, Penang, with Penang winning 4-3.
