AFC Leopards’ confirm coach Nandwa on permanent basis

AFC Leopards’ have confirmed James Nandwa as their coach for next season just a day after he helped the club win GOtv Shield courtesy of a 1-0 win against rivals Gor Mahia.

Club chairman Allan Kasavuli has told Goal that they extended Nandwa's stay at the club for two more years. "We are happy to finish the season with a trophy. Our target when we took over was to achieve what we have as well as finish runners-up in Kenyan Premier League.

“Nandwa has been instrumental in helping us do this and we want to work with him next year again to do even bigger things.We will also retain his assistant Mickey Weche and Team Manager Francis Xavier”

Nandwa was brought on board at the club in August on a temporary basis but he managed to help the club finish runners-up in the league as well as clinch GOtv Shield trophy at the expense of K’Ogalo.

In eleven outings, Nandwa won all but lost one - 1-2 defeat to Coastal side Bandari at Mbaraki Sports Club.

Nandwa confirmed to Goal of the latest development. "Yes I have an improved offer on the table but I must scrutinise it well before signing. I am confident I will be signing the same."
