The Scot made an appearance at Brunei DPMM's last S.League game of the season before the official contract signing on Thursday

Former Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean made his first public appearance in Brunei as he begins his new journey as Head Coach of S.League side Brunei DPMM.

Goal Singapore broke the news of Kean's signing in late October and the 46-year-old made his first high-profile appearance in his new role on Wednesday night as he met club owner Crown Prince of Brunei, His Royal Highness Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah.

Kean arrived at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Brunei, to witness DPMM take on Geylang United in an S.League fixture. The home side went 2-0 up before conceding a last-gasp equaliser to end the campaign on a poor note, finishing 8th in the 12-team league.

DPMM have confirmed their participation in the S.League for a further two years. The 2014 season of the S.League will commence in February.

The official contract signing ceremony between Kean and DPMM will be held on Thursday, November 7.
