Following the recent news that Thailand striker Teerasil Dangda will be heading to Atletico Madrid for a second playing stint in Spain, SCG Muangthong United general manager Ronnarit Sueva has claimed that the club is looking to get a player from Atletico as a replacement.
"Teerasil will move to Atletico Madrid next season, as we've had dealings with them since last year,” Ronnarit said.
“It will be a loan contract where Atletico can loan him out to other La Liga clubs, and I believe many of them have interest in him. This will be a big step for Thai football and Teerasil will make us proud.
"Furthermore, we are preparing to take their players in a 'player swapping' fashion. This means an Atletico player will join Muangthong. Teerasil is our number one striker so we have to do our best to find the replacement, which must be equivalent or better."
25-year-old Teerasil found himself being sought after by Atletico following his performance at the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup.
The Spanish outfit extended an initial two-week training spell to a full month after the Thai forward caught the attention of the coaching staff.
The forward will be going for a short link-up with the La Liga side first before hoping to sign permanently in the January transfer window.
