The Blood and Gold manager has been sacked after losing to Orlando Pirates on away goals in the semi-final of the Caf Champions League
Esperance Tunis announced the dismissal of head coach Maher Kanzari on Monday, two days after the Tunisian club was knocked out of the 2013 Caf Champions League semi-finals against the South African club.
Kanzari, who came on board last February following the departure of Nabil Maaloul, was also unable to defend the Blood & Gold’s league title lost to CS Sfaxien at the end of the domestic league.
Esperance were held at home to a 1-1 draw by Pirates in the return leg of the semi-finals after a goalless stalemate in the reverse fixture on Saturday.
Arbi Zouaoui, who heads Esperance youth outfit, has been named to assume the interim.
