Following the signing of former Chippa United coach Mark Harrison at Arrows, a source at the club revealed to Goal how the deal was planned
“There is no coach who can just resign out of the blue and then the next day sign for another club with immediate effect, without discussing the contract fully. This makes it clear that the negotiations had been going on for a long time and that is why Harrison resigned (from United) like that,” said the source.
The Goal source revealed that Mngqithi was going to be fired at Arrows irrespective of the Telkom KO result. Arrows were the only KZN club to progress to the quarter finals, but that couldn't save his job.
“This was long planned and there is a possibility that Manqoba picked it up, or somebody told him and he decided to dump them first. I guess loyalty is still a challenge in football,” said the source.
