Former Maritzburg United coach Ernst Middendorp signed a three year deal with Bloemfontein Celtic following his resignation from the KwaZulu-Natal club
The Celtic club owner Jimmy Augousti told the official website that he believes Middendorp is the right man for the job.
“He [Middendorp] is a disciplinarian and plays with a structured system that I believe would fit Celtic well right now,” he said.
“He has been part and parcel of the PSL for many years and coached big clubs all over Africa and indeed the world so he brings a wealth of experience,” he added.
Middendorp coached in the German Bundesliga with Arminia Bielfeld and for famous continental giants Hearts of Oaks and Asante Kotoko of Ghana. In the Premier Soccer League he has coached Kaizer Chiefs in the past too.
Middendorp will officially start his tenure in Bloemfontein on Monday. On Sunday he will watch his new boys when they play in the Macufe Cup under the temporary guidance of Boebie Solomons against Kaizer Chiefs.
