Arema FC’s striker Greg Nwokolo is on the bucket list for Terengganu who look to strengthen their front lines but management isn’t keen to sell
Malaysian Super League side Terengganu have shown interest in signing Arema FC's striker Greg Nwokolo.
The Nigerian-born Indonesian was contacted by the Turtles and he had indicated to Goal that the rumours are indeed true.
The 27-year-old said: “Yes it's true, [Terengganu] came to me through an agency but I don't want to talk much about it, because I am currently still under contract with Arema.
“They should contact [Arema] management.”
However, despite Terengganu’s, as well as several clubs’ interests, CEO of Arema, Iwan Budianto, stated that he doesn't want to sell Nwokolo.
“I will not let Greg [Nwokolo] leave the team, because currently, Arema still need his services,” Iwan asserted.
Nwokolo joined Arema FC last year and had made 24 appearances for the Indonesian Super League (ISL) team.
To date, he has scored 15 goals for Arema who finished second in the ISL this season.
He also boasts playing stints in Singapore with Tampines Rovers, Young Lions as well as Singapore Armed Forces who are now known as Warriors FC.
