With the clubs refusing to take the players on-loan from the Indian FA, their marketing partners have stepped in...
The future of the now disbanded Pailan Arrows’ players has been settled. As Goal reported a couple of days back, the 26-member squad shall ply their trade in IMG-Reliance’s tournament and shall begin their training sessions at the Cooperage Stadium, Mumbai.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) had made the said players available to the I-League clubs provided that they are released in time for the tournament proposed by their commercial partners. However this didn’t go down to down well with the clubs who decided not to take the players on board if they are to be released for IMG-Reliance’s tournament, which they have been vehemently protesting against.
Goal had revealed earlier that I-League Professional Football Clubs Association (IPFCA) informed the AIFF last week of their stand.
Left with no option, the AIFF has taken a decision on the future of the Arrows players by asking their players to train in Mumbai for IMG-Reliance’s tournament which shall kick-off next year.
The Arrows along with its six member support staff headed by Sanjoy Sen (coach) will start training at Cooperage Ground from 13th September, 2013. Sen will continue to get support from Sujit Chakraborty (Asst. Coach), Tanumoy Basu (Goalkeeper Coach), Juyef Islam (Physio), Kamal Chandra Das (Masseur) and Pratham Basu (Manager).
Meanwhile, the IMG-Reliance contracted players started the second leg of their training camp from 10th September 2013 at Cooperage Ground.
