Daniels had a frustrating time under Mosimane at Downs and requested to be released immediately after the end of last season, while Sangweni has been out for the past six months

Bloemfontein Celtic have announced the signing of former Ajax Cape Town defender Clayton Daniels on a one-year deal with an option to renew.

Goal exclusively revealed on Wednesday that Daniels is certainly leaving Mamelodi Sundowns after it became clear that he wasn’t part of Pitso Mosimane’s plans for the season.

The 29-year-old Cape Town born-defender is expected to partner captain Thabo Nthethe in Celtic’s defence, once he gets back to full fitness.

In the Orlando Pirates camp, coach Roger de Sa is hoping to give stalwart defender Siyabonga Sangweni a run in their next game.

Sangweni has been out of action for the past six months and with two of their defenders already ruled out for their next Caf Champions League match against AC Leopards, De Sa would be tempted to give him some game time.

The former Golden Arrows player has been a regular absentee in the Bafana squad, and his return to action will also benefit the South African national team.
