Premier League set to break spending records

Recently published figures from Deloitte Sports Business Group show that spending in the Premier League this transfer window is set to be broken by the end of Monday's deadline
Clubs in the Premier League have already broken the spending records of the past, according to figures recently released by Deloitte, with under 11 hours until the transfer window closes.

Gross spending in the Premier League this window is currently around £515 million - with many deals still to be completed including the £40m transfer of Mesut Ozil to Arsenal.

Net spending in the Premier League is also a record-breaker this window with around £330m spent and more to come.

Last year saw over £100m of deals concluded on deadline day and that figure is sure to be eclipsed over the next few hours when the window shuts at 23:00 BST.

With the Ozil deal to be completed and Manchester United in talks to sign Marouane Fellaini, spending in the Premier League this window has soared this summer.
