The 19-year-old youngster of Ghanaian parentage has left Cardiff City to join Episkopi in GreeceAustrian-born Ghanaian forward Jesse Asiedu Darko has signed a three-year deal with Greek side Episkopi after Cardiff City released him.
The 19-year-old was promoted to the senior side of Cardiff in the summer of 2012, but failed to make a single appearance for the team. He was loaned to League 2 side Wimbledon where he made 12 appearances without scoring.
Darko moved to England at the age of 10 and played for the Under-14 side of Bromley where his goal scoring exploits and pace caught the eyes of Cardif who offered him a place in their youth team.
“I'm glad I came to Greece, is a new experience for me, I will try to quickly adapt to a different lifestyle than what I had so far,” Darko told the club’s website.
“It was a big decision for me to come to Rethymnon, but I think I made a good choice and agree to work for three years.”
Darko added: “Thanks to people who worked with me in England and helped me to show my talent and go on transfer. I also thank my new coach and my team-mates, who were very well from the first moment. Now I have to work hard to help my new team to achieve its goals.”
