Atletico Mineiro youngster Bernard insists he is not motivated by money as he weighs up his future, with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Shakhtar Donetsk allinterested in his signature.
The 20-year-old is expected to complete a move to Europe this summer and has attracted interest from a number of top Premier League clubs amongst others.
And while the race for the Brazilian hots up between Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk and Portuguese champions Porto with the former having a bid accepted, Bernard insists the financial power of Shakhtar will not sway his decision.
"I'm giving myself a deadline to think for some time," Bernard told reporters.
"But money is not everything in life. I want my happiness and if it is to stay somewhere earning less and being happy, I want it."
The Brazil international has indicated he would like to stay, but reports in Brazil suggest a move to Porto is imminent and the winger is feeling the pressure of a European move.
He added: "I have made it clear that I want to stay, but as I said, the pressure is very high on all sides. I have to sleep with that weight on me. I ask God for direction."
