The Slovakian says "the best is yet to come" from his side and vowed to become a club icon to rival the likes of Italian greats Francesco Totti and Alessandro Del Piero
The Uruguay striker is expected to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain later on Tuesday where he will link up with former Partenopei forward Ezequiel Lavezzi, leaving Hamsik as the sole remaining member of the attacking trio often described as Napoli's 'Holy Trinity'.
However, the Slovakia international has vowed to focus his own future on Rafa Benitez's side, insisting his aim is to become an icon for the club, rivalling the likes of Francesco Totti at Roma or Alessandro Del Piero at Juventus.

"I feel good here, I know everything and everyone. There is always a big project every year. And you can improve.
"Nowadays it is more difficult, but I want to be like Totti and Del Piero. I hope to do so. This is the seventh season in blue, but I'm as hungry for victories as I was the first day I set foot in Naples."
Hamsik believes the Serie A runners-up will face a tough task in overhauling champions Juventus in 2013-14 after the Bianconeri reinforced their squad with the signings of Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente and Angelo Ogbonna.
"[They are] simpy stronger than before," the 25-year-old continued. "They have reinforced a group based on steel, which has dominated the last two years.
"Tevez has done well everywhere and was a great buy, Llorente is a great striker who won acclaim with Athletic Bilbao but now has to prove himself in Italy. But he has talent to spare. Juve are really great in attack."
Former Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri left Stadio San Paolo to take charge of Inter at the end of last season, and Hamsik feels his "maniacal" former boss will soon have the Nerazzurri challenging for honours once again after their dismal campaign in 2012-13.
"The Nerazzurri are coming from a difficult season but, unfortunately for us, Mazzarri will bring them back up soon," Hamsik added. "He's maniacal, attentive to everything. With him I had - and have - a wonderful relationship. He's a big man, a real man."
