Goal reported on Sunday that Arsenal made a speculative enquiry to Liverpool about the availability of the Uruguayan, but were knocked back by the Merseyside club.

“My agent is in charge, he knows what I want, I am resting and relaxed. I am due back in about ten days, on the 21st of July, [but] a phone call could change everything.
“It is good to know that I am still valued by teams like Arsenal. Friends call me up to ask if I am moving to Chelsea, to which I laugh.”
Suarez cited his treatment by the British media as the main cause for his desire to leave Anfield, but Liverpool have remained steadfast in their refusal to sell him.
The striker was the club's top goalscorer last season, netting 23 times in the Premier League, and was included in the PFA Team of the Year for his performances in the 2012-13 season.
