Aston Villa have had a transfer enquiry for Nurnberg midfielder Hiroshi Kiyotake rejected, according to the German club's general manager Martin Bader.
Villa boss Paul Lambert has already made six summer signings as he looks to improve on an erratic first season in charge and reportedly wants to add the creative talents of the Japan international to his ranks ahead of the 2013-14 campaign.
Kiyotake contributed four goals and 10 assists in the Bundesliga last term and Lambert was hoping a fee of £7.5 million would be enough to prise him away from the Grundig-Stadion, but Bader insists the 23-year-old is not for sale.
"I am able to confirm this transfer enquiry from Aston Villa," Bader told Nurnberger Nachrichten.
"We have made it clear to Aston Villa we have no interest nor intention to sell the player."
