Garde wants quick resolution of Arsenal target Grenier's future

The Lyon coach praises the young midfielder and hopes that he will stay at the Stade de Gerland, having helped to fire his side into the Champions League with six goals
Lyon coach Remi Garde hopes for a quick resolution to the future of Clement Grenier after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spoke of his interest in the young midfielder.

The club's president, Jean-Michel Aulas, however, warned the Gunners on Sunday that the 22-year-old could cost as much as the €37 million (£31m) that Bayern Munich paid for Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze.

Garde praised the playmaker after an end to the season in which he became a regular starter, his six goals in 32 appearances this season helping Les Gones to qualify for the Champions League by finishing third in Ligue 1.

The OL boss told reporters: "I hope he will quickly find a solution with the club and will continue to grow here because the environment is very favorable.

"He ended this season very well. He grew up in the group and on the field and I am very happy for him. He is a nice guy and he is always looking to the collective.

"With Maxime Gonalons and some others, he took things in his hands in difficult times in March. He proved to be a driving force."
