Everton target Laudrup committed to Swansea, insists agent

With David Moyes joining Manchester United at the end of the season the Toffees are in the hunt for a new boss, but the Dane appears set to stay at the Liberty Stadium
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has ruled himself out of the running for the soon-to-be vacant post at Everton, according to his agent.

The Dane has enjoyed a fruitful first season in the Premier League, guiding the Swans to ninth in the table and picking up their first ever major trophy with victory in the Capital One Cup.

Everton, meanwhile, are busy lining up replacements for Manchester United-bound David Moyes, with Celtic manager Neil Lennon and Wigan boss Robert Martinez also on the list, but Laudrup appears to have committed his future to the Welsh club.

“Michael is very happy at Swansea. We do not think about any other possibilities,” his agent Bayram Tutumlu told WalesOnline.

“He will not be changing clubs. He likes Swansea and is very settled.”

Laudrup has already been linked with moves to Chelsea and Real Madrid this season, but the 48-year-old signed a new contract in March which will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2015.

Tutumlu believes such speculation is a good sign for Laudrup, but allayed Swansea fans’ fears by confirming the Dane has no plans to move on.

“People always talk about Michael becoming a coach of other clubs because he has done very well,” he added.

“But he is the manager of Swansea and that will not change. The Swansea fans do not need to worry. He will be there next season.”
