The former AC Milan trainer does not feel a large amount of money will be spent unless it is on a striker while he admitted the club are interested in Toulouse's Etienne Capoue
The former Chelsea trainer explained les Parisiens would not be spending so much of their transfer kitty on anyone other than a forward as they look to add to their already talented squad.
"€40m is only for an attacker. This is too much for an player like Vidal, even if he has many qualities," he told L'Equipe.
Reports in Italy have suggested Juventus would not be looking to sell the Chile international, and Ancelotti's comments may end some of the rumours surrounding the midfielder.
Another player linked with the 2013 Champions League quarter-finalists is Toulouse's Etienne Capoue, and the 24-year-old has been quoted as having been in touch with the Parc des Princes outfit.
Ancelotti admitted he had spoken about the player during the January transfer window with those who make the decisions at the club, though he explained he did not know if the France international had actually spoken to the board.
He added: "Etienne Capoue may be in contact with the owners. He is a very good player with many qualities. We talked about him in January.
"But we have not yet talked about the summer transfer window with the owners. We will wait until the end of the season."
