Hoops striker Gary Hooper was the subject of a bid from Norwich City, along with reported interest from Liverpool and Tottenham, but both players remained at their respective clubs when the transfer window shut.
And, when asked if a move to Celtic would have appealed to him, Doyle was full of praise for the SPL champions.

"But, in the end, the chairman at Wolves convinced me that they wanted me to stay on, so it was as simple as that.
"Once the club decided that they wanted me to stay on, that was it. That was the end of it."
Doyle has been an important part of Wolves' squad since joining from Reading in 2009 and went on to outline his hopes for the future with Championship side.
"It's a very good club, Wolves. A very big club," he continued.
"The aim was to get back promoted. It's not going to happen this year now, but I still have two-and-a-half years of my contract with Wolves and hopefully in that two-and-a-half years, we can get ourselves promoted and back to the Premier League."
