With the Blackpool winger's proposed move to Anfield stalling due to the Reds' low valuation, the Berkshire side have moved in with an offer to the Championship club
As Goal.com exclusively revealed on Monday, the Royals have tabled a bid believed to be in the region of £8 million for the Blackpool wideman.
"We've made a bid, we're waiting on Blackpool to come back to us on that one," the 51-year-old told reporters.
"He's a Blackpool player so it's difficult for me to talk about players that don't belong to us.

"He's a good player with potential, I imagine there's a lot of interest in him. But once again I have to say this is a player who doesn't belong to us."
The England under-21 international has been strongly linked with a return to Anfield just a year on from leaving Merseyside in search of first-team football.
However, with the Reds currently unwilling to match the Championship side's £8m valuation, Reading have made a late attempt to secure Ince's services.
The Stockport-born winger, who has scored 15 goals in 26 appearances in the second tier this season, could become the Royals' fourth January signing.
