The Dutch-born Indonesian winger has been signed by the Thai Premier League club from Persema Malang, becoming their final foreign player.Indonesian winger Irfan Bachdim will pen a two-year contract with Thai Premier League (TPL) club Chonburi FC after moving from Indonesian side Persema Malang on a free transfer.
The Dutch-born naturalised Indonesian player will become Chonburi's final foreign signing, following the capture of Nigerian forward Samuel Gbenga Ajayi and Montenegrin striker Ivan Boskovic.
Witthaya Laohakul, Chonburi's team manager, is pleased with The Sharks' latest addition.
"We were pleased with Bachdim's display in the Suphanburi FC match (friendly)," he told Goal.com.
"He's a perfect fit in our game. His crossing and capability to play in defense is exactly what we need; he is simply the one we're looking for."
It is understood that the club will be looking to deploy Irfan pimarily as a right winger.
Chonburi, who finished second in last season's TPL, will have to wait for Irfan's International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to be released to them by the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) before the transfer can be fully completed.
The PSSI are waiting on Persema, who have not paid Irfan's salary for the last six months, to sign on the contract termination letter in order for the player to be released from the club.
