'This is getting ridiculous' - Sammy Ameobi reacts to Newcastle's French recruits

With Massadio Haidara, Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gouffran and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa all close or confirmed as moving to St James’ Park, the youngster contemplates learning a new language

Newcastle forward Sammy Ameobi has joked that he may need to "brush up on my French" after news of the club's proposed new additions to their French contingent.

Massadio Haidara and Yoann Gouffran were both on the verge of completing moves on Tuesday, while Moussa Sissoko is also reportedly close to St James' Park and Montpeiller have confirmed that centre-back and captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has travelled to England for a medical.

If all four signings are completed, the amount of French players in the squad will rise to 10, with Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa, Gabriel Obertan, Romain Amalfitano, Sylvain Marveaux and previous January addition Mathieu Debuchy already acquired.
