Chelsea’s Alex looks set to turn down fellow west Londoners QPR to join French outfit Paris Saint-Germain, according to The Mirror.

The defender is currently training with the reserves after his transfer request was accepted by manager Andre Villas-Boas last month, with the Brazilian now likely to reunite with former boss Carlo Ancelotti at Parc des Princes.

The centre-back joined Chelsea in 2004, before spending three seasons on loan with PSV, before returning to Stamford Bridge in 2007 and going on to make over 100 appearances for the club.

Chelsea gave QPR permission to talk to the Brazilian last week after a reported bid of £4 million, but the 29-year-old has a preference for the French capital over Mark Hughes’ side, or even a potential move back to his home nation.

Whilst Villas-Boas has encouraged Alex to discuss a switch to Loftus Road, the Ligue 1 side's offer may prove more tempting for the player.
