Derek McInnes's men will be hoping to reduce the deficit that sees them lagging behind the Bhoys but our Scottish tipster expects very few goals at Pittodrie on Friday
The Dons have won six of their last seven league matches and are chalked up as warm favourites to enjoy another victory here, with Paddy Power offering just 3/4 (1.75) on Derek McInnes's men collecting all three points.
Hibs, though, travel north having lost just one of the nine fixtures that they have played since former England captain Terry Butcher took charge at Easter Road following the departure of Pat Fenlon in November.
The Hibees are available at a chunky 15/4 (4.75) with Paddy Power to beat the Dons, while the same firm go 5/2 (3.50) that the match ends in stalemate.
It is worth noting that nine of the last 13 meetings between these sides have featured fewer than three goals with no more than two goals having been notched in each of the last five.
Furthermore, it should be noted that only bottom-of-the-table Hearts and struggling Partick Thistle have scored fewer league goals than Hibs thus far this term but only Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Celtic have conceded fewer goals, either.
Indeed, Hibs have kept five clean sheets in nine matches under Butcher’s stewardship, while McInnes's men have not conceded in seven of their last nine matches on home turf in all competitions.
With that in mind, it is perhaps unsurprising that Paddy Power offer just 8/11 (1.73) that fewer than three goals are scored at Pittodrie but it does, nevertheless, appear to be a solid selection.
Eight of the last 11 meetings between the sides in all competitions has seen at least one side draw a blank and, therefore, the 10/11 (1.91) quote from Paddy Power for either side not to score is the recommended play for punters ahead of Friday night's game.
