Espanyol - Getafe Betting Preview: Why a home win is on the cards

Our La Liga expert Phil Kitromilides believes that the Azulones, who have struggled on the road, will suffer more away-day pain against the Catalans
Sunday night brings us one of the simplest selections of the season so far as Espanyol host Getafe. The Catalans have made a fine start to the season and host a Getafe side who have an extremely poor away record.

The side from the capital can be backed at 7/2 (4.50) for the win with Coral, while the draw is offered at
12/5 (3.40).

Yet there is no reason to oppose Espanyol and, at 4/5 (1.80), the price for a home win is easily big enough for us to invest in.

As mentioned previously, Getafe have been consistently woeful on the road, with Luis Garcia's men losing each of their last seven matches away from home going back to last season.

Indeed, the Azulones have won just one of their last 15 away games and there is little to suggest that this will change against an Espanyol side that has looked decent so far this season.

Javier Aguirre has added a steel to Espanyol which was missing when he took over from Mauricio Pochettino last year with the team bottom of the table.

What is noticeable about Espanyol this season is that they have goals in them, and with Geta's defensive record on the road leaving much to be desired, backing a home win is the only bet.

The Catalans have already beaten Valencia and Athletic Bilbao at Cornella El Prat this season and should comfortbaly have enough to see off Getafe.

Espanyol to win at 4/5 (1.80) 1.5 points with Coral
