The side which finished third in the Turkish Super League should be too strong for the relegated west Londoners, according to Phil KitromilidesQueens Park Rangers continue to prepare for their return to the Championship with a pre-season tour of Austria where this afternoon they face Turkish giants Besiktas.
Despite an awful campaign in the top flight last season, the R's retain the services of some decent players and will be hopeful to bounce straight back to the top flight.
The Turkish side meanwhile are preparing for European competition having finished third in their domestic league last season and will provide Harry Redknapp's team with a stern test.
Unsurprisingly Besiktas are the favourites with Bet365 at 17/20 (1.85) while QPR can be backed at 12/5 (3.40).
The west Londoners however could be missing two of their most important players with striker Loic Remy and midfielder Stephane Mbia both nursing knocks and therefore not guaranteed to feature.
That of course, makes the argument for backing Besiktas even stronger and looking at things from a logical perspective the price of 17/20 (1.85) for them to win is actually fairly big.
If this were a competitive match one could readily expect it to be smaller, with friendlies admittedly adding an unknown quantity to the equation.
Yet Besiktas are a solid side boasting the services of the bustling Portuguese centre forward Hugo Almeida, not to mention their talented manager Slaven Bilic. They they should have more than enough to see off QPR and the price offered is well worth investing in.
