Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas should turn down a move to Manchester United in favour of a return to Arsenal this summer, according to Goal readers.

The Premier League champions made an opening offer of £25.9 million for Fabregas on Monday following David Moyes' failed attempt to sign Thiago, who opted to be reunited with ex-coach Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich instead.

Barcelona could be reluctant to sell another one of their star midfielders, while coach Tito Vilanova insists that Fabregas wants to stay at Camp Nou, but should the Catalan club be tempted into a sale, the Gunners reportedly hold first refusal on any deal.

And, with a number of potential options this summer, 43 per cent of our readers have voted in favour of Fabregas returning to the Emirates Stadium, after leaving in 2011, while 32% chose Old Trafford as his next destination.

The 26-year-old often struggled to break in to the Barca line-up last season and was occasionally booed by his own supporters when he performed poorly.

However, 23% Fabregas should remain at Camp Nou and battle to become a key first-team player without the added pressure of Thiago as a rival for his position.
