Rooney, 27, has been linked with an Old Trafford exit after Sir Alex Ferguson revealed that the United star had requested to leave the club last season, although David Moyes has thus far been publicly defiant in his stance that the England striker will not be sold this summer.
But with Rooney's relationship with the Premier League champions having broken down, a summer exit seems on the cards, with Jose Mourinho keen on a deal having previously expressed his admiration for the former Everton man.
So has Moyes made the right decision? Are United simply holding firm in anticipation of an even bigger bid arriving from Stamford Bridge?
Should they hold onto Rooney as Moyes strives to get the best out of the forward in the 2013-14 campaign?
