Italy U21-Spain U21 Betting Preview: Why you should back la Roja to storm to victory

The final of the Under-21 European Championship takes place tonight, with our tipster backing the 2011 champions to record back-to-back titles with a 17/10 bet
Eight teams have been fighting it out over the last two weeks in Israel for a place in the final which takes place in the Teddi Malcha Stadium this evening.

Spain and Italy have remained unbeaten during the group stages and it promises to be a spectacle in Jerusalem.

La Roja come into this match in spectacular form. Julen Lopetegui’s men are unbeaten in their last 25 matches, of which they have drawn just three.

The current holders were drawn in a tough group, alongside Netherlands, Germany and Russia, but overcame all without conceding a goal. Lopetegui’s men then disposed of Norway with ease in the semis. Paddy Power price them as favourites at 4/5 (1.80) to win in 90 minutes.

Italy will be no pushovers for Spain, they also boast a fantastic record in recent years, being beaten only once in their last 14 matches.

The Azzurri were given a test in their group, beating England in a tight game, before comfortably beating hosts Israel and drawing with Norway with a last minute goal. Paddy Power don’t give them much hope though, pricing them at 15/4 (4.75) to beat Spain. The same firm has the draw at 12/5 (3.40).

Paddy Power are refund losing bets on first/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast bets if the game in question has at least three goals.

Considering the opposition Spain have faced and brushed aside, it’s tough to ignore the price of 4/5 (1.80) for them to win the match.

With the likes of Isco, Alvaro Morata and Thiago Alcantara in the side, players who wouldn’t look out of place in the national team, la Roja are certainly worth backing in the outright market.

For those looking for more value, Spain to win to nil at 17/10 (2.70) with Paddy Power seems like a fantastic price. This bet would have paid out in 11 of Spain’s last 13 matches, including all of the group matches and semi-final in Israel.

Considering Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been in fine form during the tournament, it doesn't look beyond him to keep another clean sheet.
