thumbnail Hello,

The two English sides go head-to-head for the tournament in Como, Italy after securing dramatic semi-final successes against Arsenal and Sporting CP on Good Friday

ASTON VILLA

Chelsea can welcome back ball-playing centre-back Nathan Ake for the showpiece after the Dutchman missed the semi-final victory over Arsenal due to first-team commitments.

Adam Nditi misses out through injury so that means either John Swift or Conor Hunte will come into the midfield.

Aston Villa will be shorn of the services of the tournament's second top-goalscorer in Michael Brennan, meaning that it is likely to be an unchanged starting XI from the one that defeated Sporting Lisbon after extra-time in the last four.

  DID YOU KNOW?
  • The final contains the competition's three highest goalscorers, with Chelsea's Islam Feruz (seven) leading the way, followed by Villa's Michael Brennan (six) and Graham Burke (five)
  • Feruz (pictured right) is Scotland's youngest ever Under-21 international having appeared for the Tartan Army as a 16-year-old against Italy in April 2012.
  • Nathan Ake has started a game for the Chelsea first-team this season, against Middlesbrough in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
  • After finishing second in their group to progress to the last 16, Chelsea have defeated Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal to reach the final.
  • Aston Villa were also runners up in their group, before overcoming Ajax, Olympiacos and Sporting CP.
  • Graham Burke and Samir Carruthers have both made the step up to the Aston Villa first-team in the last 12 months.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
LEWIS BAKER

In a team brimming with young talent, Lewis Baker has been one of the stand-out players of the competition this season. The attacking midfielder has four goals to his name so far and shone as Chelsea overcame London rivals Arsenal in their marathon semi-final encounter.

JACK GREALISH

Without leading goalscorer Brennan, the onus will fall on Jack Grealish to be the Villans' matchwinner. His pace on either the left-wing or in a striking position has really caught the eye at times in his side's run to the final and the Chelsea right-back will certainly have his hands full with him.

PREDICTION
CHELSEA 3-2 ASTON VILLA

Villa have surprised everyone to reach this stage and have taken some real scalps along the way but Chelsea's expensively-assembled side are full of goals and attacking enterprise and that, along with the return of the influential Ake to central-defence, should be enough to give the London side the trophy.
