Swansea goalkeeper Vorm pulls out of Netherlands squad to face Italy

Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has pulled out of the Netherlands squad to face Italy on Wednesday.

The former Utrecht shot-stopper has missed his side's last two matches against Sunderland and West Ham because of a persistent knee problem.

And after a fitness test, it has now been decided that the 29-year-old will continue his recovery in Wales rather than join up with the Oranje.

As yet Louis van Gaal has announced no plans to replace Vorm in his 19-man squad.

The friendly match between Netherlands and Italy will kick off at Amsterdam Arena on February 6, 19.30GMT.
