Prandelli: Mancini can't manage Balotelli, only I can

The Azzurri boss has claimed he is the only coach capable of handling the Manchester City striker, and revealed he often jokingly tells the striker he does not like him

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has insisted he is the only manager who can handle Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

The 55-year-old claims that the impersonal way he treats the controversial forward is key to keeping him disciplined.

“I often say to Balotelli, jokingly, that maybe I'm the only one capable of managing him,” Prandelli told reporters.

“Perhaps it is because I have such little time for him.”

The Azzurri boss also heavily hinted that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti and AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy will feature in the upcoming friendly against France.

He said: “If we don't try these kids now, then when will we do it?”
