TEAM NEWS: Sterling & Osman to make England debuts against Sweden

Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson is set to hand international debuts to three players ahead of their friendly clash with Sweden, with Steven Gerrard picking up his 100th cap
Leon Osman and Raheem Sterling have both been named in the starting line-up for England's international friendly with Sweden.

The Three Lions take on the Scandinavians in Stockholm, and after impressive showings in the Premier League this term, Everton midfielder Osman and Liverpool youngster Sterling have been rewarded with a place in Roy Hodgson's first XI for the clash with Erik Hamren's side.

Tottenham defender Steven Caulker is also set to make his international debut following a good run of form with his club side, and will line up alongside Chelsea's Gary Cahill in the centre of defence as England look to stop a Sweden attack that will likely be led by Paris Saint-Germain hitman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

11/2 Raheem Sterling is 11/2 with bet365 to score at anytime against Sweden
Hodgson has not been afraid to make changes to his team since taking over as national team boss in May, and the former Liverpool and West Brom boss was keen to stress that the trio deserve their place in the starting XI.

He told reporters: "Steven Caulker and Raheem have been playing regularly for the Under-21s and have made that transition.

"Leon Osman is the odd one out. He has been performing regularly and well for Everton but has been passed over.

"I thought it was time to give him a chance because he has been one of the unsung heroes of a very good football club and a very good football team. He is a very energetic player. And the fact he is 31 surprises me because he plays like a much younger man.

"Let's hope that continues and I won't have to worry about his birth certificate."

Steven Gerrard will captain the side, partnering Osman and Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley in the middle of the park to earn his 100th cap for the national side, while Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young will start alongside Sterling in attack.
