Team Of The Week:

Week 18

Weekly Roundup

Shusaku Nishikawa
Sanfrecce Hiroshima
Nishikawa's saves in the opening stages of the match set the pace for Sanfrecce's easy win against Kawasaki Frontale, putting him in our Team of the Week for a second straight round.

Yuichi Komano
Jubilo Iwata

Cho Byung-Kuk
Jubilo Iwata

Kazuhiko Chiba
Sanfrecce Hiroshima

Naoki Ishikawa
Albirex Niigata

Komano contributed not only up and down the pitch, but as the team's corner kick-taker set up three of Jubilo's goals. Cho converted two of those, including the decider against Consadole. Chiba and Ishikawa gave their respective squads stability, with the latter in making his second straight TOTW appearance as he continues to help Albirex escape from the drop zone.

Seitaro Tomisawa
Yokohama F. Marinos

Mitsuo Ogasawara
Kashima Antlers

Naoyuki Fujita
Sagan Tosu

In our three-midfielder formation, Tomisawa earned an appearance not only with his set-piece goal, but also by not allowing a single crack to emerge in Marinos' defence. Fujita's fighting spirit was a symbol for Sagan's perseverance and his efforts were rewarded when he assisted the game-winning goal with a free kick. Ogasawara also converted a free kick for Antlers and played well on both sides of the ball.

Masato Kudo
Kashiwa Reysol

Yuzo Tashiro
Vissel Kobe

Hisato Sato
Sanfrecce Hiroshima
Both Kudo and Tashiro came on as substitutes before delivering much-needed goals for their teams. On the left wing, Sato's double gave him an overwhelming league lead with 14 goals in addition to putting Sanfrecce in first place for the first time since he joined the team in 2005.
