The Courts Young Lions played out a goal-less draw with uniformed giants Home United on Thursday night, in what was the last S.League match in the 2012 campaign for both sides.

Despite numerous attempts on goal, both teams ultimately failed to hit the back of the net and close our their season with a victory.

Barely five minutes in, Young Lions winger Fazli Ayob broke away from his marker down the right side and sent a low cross into the box for the lurking Jonathan Toto, but Nor Azli Yusoff bailed Home out as he cleared the ball to safety.

A minute later, the Protectors were denied by Neezam Aziz in goal as Frederic Mendy headed straight to the Young Lions goalkeeper from a Firdaus Idros corner.

It was a non-affair in the next fifteen minutes though, with both sides failing to penetrate the attacking third as play was concentrated mostly in the middle of the field.

Three minutes after the half-hour mark, Young Lions failed to clear their line fom a corner but they were let off the hook as Franklin Anzite miraculously missed the target from inside the six-yard box.

The Protectors heaved a sigh of relief before the break, as their opponents failed to convert chances that were presented to them on a platter.

Benjamin Kristoffersen Lee did well to wriggle his way past Masrezwan Masturi before delivering the ball to the far post for Nazrul Nazari, who was foiled by a stupendous save from Nazri Sabri.

Sirina Camara then delivered a wicked cross for Toto, who was in acres of space, but the Frenchman failed to find the back of the net, much to the disbelief of the Young Lions bench.

Midway through the second half, Home coach Lee Lim Saeng was left fuming after his team had a goal disallowed.

From the halfway mark, Jeremy Chiang delivered a perfect cross into the area and Mendy towered above everyone else to head the ball into the net in the 77th minute.

But the visitors' celebrations were cut short as assistant referee K. Surindranath immediately flagged for offside, and that was the closest either team would come to scoring as the game ended in a stalemate.

Home United now end the season in 5th position, while the Courts Young Lions remain in 10th spot.
