An exciting clash awaits in Round 22's live broadcast game as two attacking sides go head to head
Fourth-placed Tanjong Pagar United are set to clash with league leaders Tampines Rovers in this week's LIVE match as they try to slow down the latter's title charge.
Eleven points clear of second-placed Albirex Niigata at the time of writing with only six more games left, the defending champions look set to hold on to their S.League crown.
But Tay Peng Kee's men will be wary of the Jaguars, who inflicted on them their first defeat of the season back in May with an excellent 1-0 win at Queenstown Stadium.
Patrick Vallee's charges were in the top three for much of the season, although a couple of costly results - especially a recent 1-0 loss to bottom side Courts Young Lions - have seen them slide down to fourth.
They will miss top scorer Monsef Zerka through suspension though, with fellow striker Ismael Benahmed (right) set to shoulder the goal-scoring burden as he looks to add to his tally of six league goals.
The Frenchman will be ably supported by the talented Kamel Ramdani, whose set-piece prowess will come in handy on top of his supreme playmaking skills. Hafiz Nor and Asraf Rashid will provide the width and pace on the flanks, with John Wilkinson dictating things from the centre of the pitch.
At the back, goalkeeper Aurelien Herisson looks set to be in for a busy night against a fearsome Tampines attack that has netted 19 goals in their last five games.
Aleksandar Duric is the main culprit with a league-leading 12 goals, as he continues to prove he can cut it at professional level despite being 43 years old. The evergreen veteran has struck six times in his last three matches and will be the main dangerman for the Stags.
Shahdan Sulaiman has also impressed in recent outings and will pull the strings behind Duric, while Firdaus Kasman and Jamil Ali have an eye for the killer pass as well.
Tampines are unbeaten in their last six matches in league combat but will surely be given a tough time by Tanjong Pagar, and spectators should be in for a thriller.
