Injury-hit LionsXII look to bounce back from their FA Cup disappointment as they take on T-Team in the Malaysian Super League
Tenacious midfielder and vice-captain Hariss Harun was suspended for the second leg against Terengganu, and will still be missing from V. Sundramoorthy’s depleted side on Saturday night.
The Lions’ squad has been decimated by injuries crucially in their attacking department with no less than five attackers missing. With Khairul Nizam the latest casualty after limping off in the FA Cup match against Terengganu, doubts remain over V. Sundramoorthy’s ability to field seven substitutes. Against Terengganu, Sundram only had four players on the bench.
Sundram will also be hoping that captain Shahril Ishak, who has been on the bench for the past three matches will be able to start and lead his team.
Despite their long injury list, the Lions remain second in the table and have managed
to pick up 21 points in the Malaysia Super League so far, albeit having played an extra game than leaders Kelantan and third-placed Terengganu.
T-Team were shocked at home by a double from Mohamad Hamidan and coach Yunus Aliff would be looking to deliver an improved performance.
T-Team were guilty of wasting a host of glorious opportunities against Kedah and midfielder Zairo Anuar Zailani, the main culprit of the misses in the previous match, will be looking to make amends.
The Lions will be keen to put in a positive performance to repay the Jalan Besar faithful who have consistently turned out in strong numbers to spur the Lions on.
