After snapping a two-game losing streak against PKNS FC over the weekend, Fandi Ahmad's men will be eyeing another victory against the Malaysia Super League strugglersThe LionsXII hit the road for their next Malaysia Super League (MSL) fixture after their 2-1 win over PKNS FC on Saturday night, as they travel to Ipoh to face Perak FA.
Goals from Zulfahmi Arifin and Faris Ramli overturned a Nazmi Faiz goal as the defending MSL champions ended a run of two consecutive defeats and they will surely be in a more buoyant mood against the hosts, who have struggled so far.
After eight games, Abu Bakar Fadzim's men sit second from bottom, above T-Team FC only on goal difference. However, they are only three points behind the LionsXII, such is the tight nature of the current MSL campaign.
The Seladang do have problems finding the back of the net, with only five strikes - the league's lowest tally. This appears to be their biggest problem in their search for more points and they failed to pull away from T-Team in their last game, only managing a 1-1 draw.
With two goals to his name, Brazilian striker Eliel da Cruz Guardiano is their main threat, while captain Hardi Jaafar is an experienced head in midfield. Winger Kyaw Zayar Win can be a tricky customer down the flank as well.
Khairul Amri looks set to spearhead the LionsXII attack, although Sufian Anuar did well when he came on against PKNS. Fandi will also look to Zulfahmi to carry on the fine form he showed against PKNS, where the midfielder took control of proceedings in an impressive display alongside Firdaus Kasman and debutant Raihan Rahman.
Safuwan Baharudin should remain in the back-line as the Singapore side hunt for victory on a ground they have never done so before, but will fancy their chances come Tuesday night.
