Hardly threatened but saved well twice from King and always dependable enough at claiming any balls hurled into the box by the visitors. His distribution, too, looked much improved.
Looked ill-fitted to the right central defensive slot in the reverse 1-1 draw and did little to dispel that theory with an awkward display. Rarely troubled by runners off of him though as he helped hold a steady line.
Had little to do from a defensive perspective, in truth, but was exposed when hauling down Cairney in the opening period.
Looks like he is slowly working his way back to full fitness. Some of his runs into opposition territory were explosive and helped earn City space in attacking areas. Solid in the air and put in a good shift before being replaced.
Not always accurate enough with his passing but his forward forays were pivotal in allowing Milner to make room for crosses when cutting back onto his favoured right foot. Energetic display, if slightly sloppy.
Awful in the first half of this tie and was not much better in the second. Most of his forward passes were cut out and he went missing at times when Taylor and Cairney sought to exploit the central areas. City lacked Toure's presence and drive.
Sent in a fantastic cross for the opening goal and was a non-stop runner for City all evening. Acted as two midfielders in one such was Garcia's ineptitude throughout but was good in the tackle and decisive with the ball. Replaced at the interval but certainly not due to a lack of performance.
There were not enough opportunities to utilise his searing pace early on, but this was predominantly down to poor service. His hard work paid off though, as he set up both of Dzeko's goals.
Frustrating from the England international, as he produced some excellent crosses but also gave the ball away cheaply on occasion and didn't work as hard as normal to counter the threat posed down the right. Moved central in the second period to accommodate Kolarov's arrival to proceedings.
Provided a cutting edge otherwise sorely lacking up top but initially struggled to get the better of Blackburn's determined backline. Opened the scoring with a bullet header after displaying great movement and strength before showing poise for his second.
So wasteful with the majority of his attempts on goal in the opening exchanges and was failing his latest audition to try and oust Agüero from the starting XI until he struck a superb second-half double.
Was authoritative when it came to dealing with City's plethora of balls in from wide positions and generally well-positioned to deal with City's offerings going forward but could do little to prevent Negredo from breaking the deadlock. Withdrawn at the break, perhaps due to his recent return to first-team football.
Deserves a lot of credit for keeping Navas quiet for long periods of the encounter but tired as the game wore on. Limited in his work going forward but was cautious of the role he had to carry out on the Spaniard, which he carried out well until the second-half onslaught.
Resilient as ever and kept City at bay until right on the stroke of half-time when he was drawn to the ball too easily. Was beaten by a quality pass for the second and then, like the rest of his side, his head dropped as City ran riot.
Came into the starting XI and did well on the whole but could not deal with Negredo's movement and strength on occasion. Badly caught out for the majority of the second-half goals.
Was beaten all ends up for Negredo's first goal and too easily by Kolarov in the second half. Did not offer enough going forwards to have enough of an impact. Shied away from delivering when he did get into more advanced areas.
Superb battling performance in midfield for the most part and looked inspired to get stuck into City, particularly by the lackadaisical Garcia's efforts. Showed a vast array of passing too but was powerless to stop City in the second half.
Disappointing overall contribution. Did not test Richards enough when there was certainly a chance to get at the right-back. Needed to work harder to help Spurr with the threatening Navas too.
Showed flashes of his undeniable potential but he was unable to exert any influence from attacking areas and was forced to drop deep to gain possession of the ball.
Combative but also reliable on the ball in tight areas and worked tirelessly to prevent as much damage as possible, a difficult prospect when facing a City side in this form.
Did not have quite the same impact as he did at Ewood Park, where he probed away until the last. Game passed him by at times when his side needed more.
Tried to run Lescott and Nastasic wide but was constantly met by well-timed challenges and could not get used to the rough-and-ready approach of the City defence.
Came on at the break and had an instant impact, sending a long ball arcing around a Rovers defender to find Negredo, who made it 2-0. Operated on the left of midfield, providing more width and added defensive nous. Also had a hand in Agüero's goal.
Came on for the closing stages and did not have much of a chance to impact on proceedings.
Was given a hero's welcome and delivered the goods, as he does with such regularity and ease, by controlling Kolarov's cutback before lashing home.
Came on at the break and could do nothing about any of the goals City plundered past him in a devastating second half. Otherwise, did everything he had to do with the minimum of fuss.
Was only on for a matter of minutes and could do nothing to alter the outcome.
Injected some pace into an otherwise stagnated Rovers attack and had two presentable openings to haul his side right back into the contest but took neither.
