Hosts and title holders Malaysia will take on Indonesia at the Bukit Jalil Stadium today, safe in the knowledge that only a win would ensure a semi-final berth.
Khyril Muhymeen Zambri is a major doubt for the home nation while winger S.Kunanlan has been ruled out with a thigh injury.
Coach Datuk K.Rajagopal and young Wan Zack Haikal Wan Noor reflected the mood in the Malaysian camp with their statements before the match: “I'm only thinking about winning. At the end of the day, our performance will do the talking.
"But I'm very optimistic.”
Wan Zack stressed: “We have to beat Indonesia, there is no other way.”
Their opponents Indonesia will be deprived of Wahyu Wijiastanto’s services for this match. The towering defender is suspended after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament against Singapore.
The Garudas will however be welcoming Endra Prasetya, Handi Ramdhan and Tonnie Cusell back into the team tonight following suspensions and injuries.
