Kedah will be looking forward to facing Sabah after securing the maiden victory of the season against Kuala Lumpur last week. The Canaries were largely dominant throughout that match and although they only managed to net one goal through Kyril Muhymeen, there was plenty of optimism from that result.
As for the clash against Sabah, the similar backbone is likely to be retained with Khyril and Baddrol Bakthiar starring in midfield. Khyril has arguably been Kedah's most consistent player in their drabby campaign so far and should pose significent threat on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Sabah take the long trip to Alor Star on the back of an impressive result against defending champions Kelantan. The Red Warriors could not break down a very solid Sabah defence in midweek and Justin Ganai will want his side to replicate that same solidity on Saturday.
Once again, Brendan Gan is expected to start in midfield, while Michael Baird and Bobby Gonzales continue to pull the strings upfront. Baird in particular will be Sabah's man to watch, impressing in all his outing for the Rhinos so far.
On an overall note, it is likely to be an explosive match between two sides looking to build on their recent success. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how the Canaries cope with Sabah's capable attack.
